This will be the first park opened from the GO Bond more than four years ago. It is a year late and this is all we have to show for it. A new parking lot, open fields with grass, a very small two restroom facility for a venue thought to hold 500 people at capacity, and a playground that is very far away from the parking lot and restrooms. Will the children playing in that area be able to access bathrooms quickly? I would like to hear what parents think about that.
This park was poorly designed and over budget and is this what your council thinks $3.4 million in renovations should get you? I will work to negotiate better contracts and get citizen input first instead of consultants who don’t live in Cape Coral.
It is time for action, send a message on November 8th that we have had enough of wasteful spending.
